THE ROAST ← the good, the bad, the oof

01

Clarity

5/10
I had to read 'Open from $3 · Head $19 · steal +$10' three times and I’m still not 100% sure what 'Open', 'Head' and 'Steal' do differently.

You scatter clear micro-copy ('Tap any oval on the bug.') and mystifying terms ('If you take the head, you become the thought.'). The steps exist in headings, but the one-line mechanics that sell the idea are missing.

FIX IT

One-line, up top: 'Buy a 14‑day ad plate on the isopod. Openings $3–$9, Head $19, Steal = last paid + $10. Tap a plate to bid — shell hardens in 14 days.'

02

Audience

4/10
Is this for marketers, shitposters, tiny brands, or bored collectors? The page refuses to pick one.

Nowhere says who should buy this or who will see the ad. 'Instant glory' is a mood, not a market.

FIX IT

Add a short audience line under the headline: 'For creators, indie brands, and attention hunters who want a tiny, viral billboard.'

03

Value

5/10
'Instant glory' and 'you become the thought' sound great in a fortune cookie, but they don’t tell me the benefit or outcome.

You show price ranges and scarcity (8 plates, 14 days) — that’s the product — but you never say what the buyer actually gets: visibility, a screenshotable moment, potential virality?

FIX IT

Spell the benefit plainly: '14 days of exclusive placement on this page, shareable screenshot-ready spot, low entry cost ($3–$19).'

04

Trust

3/10
Nice lines, creepy absence of anything that proves it’s real. 'Loading the live plate state.' feels like a promise with no delivery.

No live bids visible, no payment info, no countdown, no clear rules beyond 'Keep it fair.' That makes people pause at checkout — or never even start.

FIX IT

Show live bids and a countdown, add payment/ticketing proof and a short 'How disputes are handled' rule. Even a visible example bid would help.

05

CTA

2/10
There are exactly zero buttons. You tell me to 'Tap any oval' and then hand me… nothing.

A landing page without a clear clickable primary action is just a poster. The instructions rely on UI affordances that may not exist or be obvious.

FIX IT

Add a primary button: 'Bid now — openings from $3' and make each plate an obvious clickable element with price tag overlays.

IF YOU FIX ONLY THREE THINGS…

1

Add a single, obvious primary CTA

Put a prominent 'Bid now — openings from $3' button under the headline and make each plate visually tappable with the current quoted price. Right now users are told to tap but have no affordance.

2

Explain the auction mechanics in one sentence

Directly beneath the headline, define Open/Head/Steal and the 14‑day window so visitors instantly know cost, risk and reward.

3

Show live state and trust signals

Expose the live plate state, a countdown, and basic payment/trust info so people stop wondering whether this is a joke or a real purchase.
